PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Former Pirate Sean Casey joined Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on SportsRadio 93-7 The FAN to preview the Pittsburgh Pirates upcoming season.

When it came to predicting the Pirates record this year, Sean admits he was speechless, but likes what he is seeing from the young guys on the team.  The one positive the Pirates are doing in Sean’s eyes are paying the young guys in the draft and getting them into their system.

Sean supported the Pirates bringing in Manager Clint Hurdle.  Sean played over 50 games for the Pirates and talked about the feel in the clubhouse because of the losing streak and how heavy that weighed on the players.  Sean believes, like Jim Leyland did in Detroit, Hurdle will be able to change the culture of this team and possibly turn this team into a winner.

Sean also took a look around the Pirates division and told us who is the team to beat this year in the NL Central.

We wrapped things up with Sean asking him to analyze Pedro Alvarez’s swing and what kind of impact he can have on this team.
