Elderly Woman Dies After Beaver Falls Accident

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) — One of the women who was injured after being hit by a car while leaving a church in Beaver County last month has died.

Officials say 82-year-old Bertha Jankowski passed away Saturday from complications related to her injuries.

The accident happened on the afternoon of March 19 in Beaver Falls.

Jankowski and her 72-year-old niece were leaving Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church when they were struck by a car.

They were walking to a nearby high rise where they lived.

Authorities said an elderly man was driving the car. He told police he believes he blacked out.

No one was charged in the case.
