Pittsburgh (KDKA): Here’s Clint Hurdle’s starting lineup for today’s Home Opener vs. the Colorado Rockies.

Game Day Notes:
*Jose Tabata has hit safely in each of the first six games…Since the All-Star break last season, Tabata’s 101 hits are tied with Colorado’s Carlos Gonzalez for first amoung National League players…Ichiro leads all MLB players with 102 hits in that time

*The Pirates pitching staff has been charged with 15 earned runs in 52 innings of work in the first six games (2.60 ERA)

*The Pirates rank second in the National League ERA (2.60) behind Atlanta (2.47)

*The Pirates began the season winning back-to-back series on the road; the first time the club has posted consecutive winning road series since August 2007.

    Am the only one who think Hurdle is an idiot for placing Jones 7th? I would much rather see him batting at the 3rd spot, 4th spot, or even the 6th spot which Doumit is batting in and he can’t hit the darn ball with an airplane wing.

      I agree that Jones should perhaps bat higher than 7th, but he has nearly the same batting average as Doumit.

    Dave, You would rather have Jones bat 3rd instead of McCutchen? Him batting 7th just shows the relative strength on the lineup for a change.
