Rapidly Rising River Closes Mon Wharf

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The rivers around Pittsburgh are on the rise and the Mon Wharf is closed as a result.

According to the National Weather Service, the Ohio River was at 19.42 feet.  It is expected to crest at 21.3 feet Thursday morning.

The Mon Wharf begins to take on water at 18 feet and was closed at 8 a.m.

Drivers who parked in the lot before 8 a.m. are being advised to move their vehicle as soon as possible.

Motorists can use the First Avenue Garage and the Second Avenue Plaza as an alternative.

    So they let people park there this morning and now they are towing their cars…..this city is a joke….it should have been closed BEFORE anyone parked there…..another example of how the city is run by idiots.

    i was at school and the people told me to move my car….. and they called around to find me another parking spot which i thought was very nice bc of the trouble of the mon warf plus i got a free parking pass for the next time i park at the mon warf and didnt have to pay for another parking lot….it was very nice of them to take the other cars out of the mon warf before the people who didnt know they wont find there cars floating down the river or under water i thought they did a wonderful!
