Man Runs Off With $400 Worth Of Cigarettes

HEMPFIELD (KDKA) -- A man stole nearly $400 worth of cigarettes from a Westmoreland County tobacco shop and it was all caught on tape.

The suspect walked into the Tobacco Outlet on Route 30 in Hempfield around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The surveillance video shows the man browsing for a bit before walking up to the counter and asking for six cartons of cigarettes – three Marlboros and three Newports.

While one clerk bagged the order, Alayna Feiling, a clerk, watched the suspect run his debit card which was declined.

"I got up to answer phone," she said. "He got up and ran out."

Store employees and police are hoping someone can identify the man from the video. The suspect is described as a man in his mid 20's, about 6-feet tall with red hair and a red goatee.

If you have any information or recognize the man in the video, contact State police in Greensburg.
