Rally Held Downtown On Black & Gold Day

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins will begin their quest for a fourth Stanley Cup Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh earned the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference and will meet the Tampa Bay Lightning.

While fans inside the CONSOL Energy Center will be rocking, a tradition will continue outside the arena.

If you don't have tickets to the game, the Penguins have set up the big screen in the south parking lot of the Civic Arena.

The Penguins are asking fans with tickets to wear white to the game.

Officials have also declared Wednesday "Black & Gold Day." A rally was held downtown at the Allegheny County Courthouse Courtyard at noon.

Officials asked fans attending the "Steal the Lightning's Thunder" rally to bring a donation that will benefit the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

The puck will drop on Game 1 at 7 p.m.
