Unstable Hillside Poses Danger In Lincoln Place

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A section of Mifflin Road in Lincoln Place had to be shut down after a landslide brought down some trees near power lines.

City crews spent the afternoon trying to cut down the rest of the trees on the hillside.

"The root system is exposed from these other large trees and if we don't get them down they're going to end up taking all these power lines out," Roger Abbott with the Pittsburgh Forestry Department said.

The hillside is unstable and the situation is dangerous.

"They don't even want to go up there with their bucket because the trees can give way at any given time," Abbott said.

The power has been shut off to those power lines.
