2 Dead, 2 Injured In Armstrong Co. Crash

GILPIN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – At least two people were killed in an early Saturday morning accident in Armstrong County.

According to the Armstrong County Coroner's Office, the two-vehicle accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Route 66 in Gilpin Township.

It appears that a vehicle traveling north, crossed the center line and stuck an oncoming vehicle head-on.

The vehicle traveling south caught on fire after being struck. Two men were trapped inside and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified as 47-year-old Gary Fouse and 33-year-old Robert Woodside Sr.

Two people in the vehicle traveling north were injured. They were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment and there is no word on their conditions at this time.

The Gilpin Township Police Department is investigating the accident.
