Pedro Not In Starting Lineup

By: Mike Vukovcan

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is sitting 3B Pedro Alvarez for the final game of the 4-game series vs. Cincinnati.

Hurdle is deciding to sit Alvarez, who’s struggling at the plate. He’s hitting .193 with no home runs and has five hits and 12 strikeouts in his last 31 at-bats.

Pirates Starting Lineup (Monday night):
McCutchen, CF
Tabata, LF
Diaz, RF
Walker, 2B
Pearce, 3B
Overbay, 1B
Snyder, C
Cedeno, SS
Correia, P

  • Just Saying...

I’m glad to see that Hurdle is all about accountability! John Russel talked about it, but never managed to implement it.

Managed..the key word. Something JR didn’t do.

Opposing teams are putting 7 guys on the right side of the field and Pedro is still trying to pull pitches 8 inches off the plate. Sounds like a recipe for a .150 batting average.
