Police Search For Driver After McKees Rocks Chase

McKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- Police are searching for the driver of a car involved in a police chase overnight in McKees Rocks that ended in a crash.

Authorities say the incident started around 2:30 a.m. when police attempted to pull over a vehicle that they believed may have been stolen.

Instead, officials say the vehicle took off, prompting the pursuit.

The chase came to an end along Shaw Avenue when the white Buick slammed into a black car that was parked in front of a home.

The force of the crash was so great that a tire popped off of the black vehicle and it spun around.

Police were able to detain the passenger following the chase, but haven't been able to locate the driver. A police canine was brought in to help in the search, but nothing turned up.

The passenger was taken back to the police station in McKees Rocks for questioning in hopes of locating the driver.
