4-1-Zoo: Pitt Gets Another Michigan Transfer

PITTSBURGH — Cornerback Cullen Christian is following safety Ray Vinopal's move and transferring from the University of Michigan to Pitt.

Christian, a freshman and Penn Hills native, reportedly told Scout.com that he'll leave Michigan to transfer and will sit out the 2012 season. As CollegeFootballTalk.com reports:

"I'm coming home and I am going to be a Pittsburgh Panther," Christian said. "Pittsburgh got my release and all that is left for me to do is to give them my transcripts and fill out paperwork. I'm leaving here on Tuesday after finals, so I might stop down this week, but I am supposed to go down May 9th and meet with the staff and do all the paperwork."

The report goes on to state that a main reason for Christian's transfer is Tony Gibson, who was his position coach in Ann Arbor. He was quoted saying he wants to be with someone who recruited him rather than with the brand new staff at Michigan.
