Meet The Penguins’ New Anthem Singer

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -If you’ve been to a Penguins game in recent history, you’ve probably heard the National Anthem sung by Jeff Jimmerson, who, with very few exceptions, has been the regular singer for years.

Army Reservist Sgt. Bob Timney got the call up for Game 1 when Jeff was out of town, and his version of the anthem, where he gets the whole crowd singing along, has been moving both the Penguins and the crowds.

KDKA Radio’s John Shumway talks to Sgt. Bob Timney about his recent fame and what Jeff Jimmerson thinks of temporarily losing his gig.

I am a Patriot, and a Viet Nam vet! I think every American should sing The National Anthem at every event there is! God Bless America and Sgt. Bob!!!

  2. Aloysius says:

    LOVE SGT. BOB!

    Get the fans involved!

  3. Dave D says:

The national anthem is stupid. It should never be sung or played at any event of any kind.
It’s not even a song…it’s really a poem that was put to the tune of a British pub song.
Your national anthem is a thing sung by drunk people! How proud must we be!!!!

    To Dave D.,

You need to get more roughage in your diet!

  5. Rob says:

Dave, if your comment was meant to incite you have succeeded. If singing that song at any event doesn’t hit your heart there is something wrong. I am a thirty year Army Veteran and knowing how many men and women gave their lives for our country gives me a sense of pride. Yes it is our national anthem and it brings out the best in us when we hear it. God Bless America.

  6. Dratsab Live says:

The problem with our National Anthem is it’s all about death and killing. Our National Anthem should be America The Beautiful!
