Pittsburghers Get Royal Wedding Fever

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburghers are getting in on the excitement surrounding the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

At Altman's Tavern in Pleasant Hills, they have a wedding watching breakfast planned. They'll have cardboard likenesses of the wedding couple, a wedding cake, tea and a ring giveaway.

Owner Rick Altman says he expects as many 60 people to get up early and watch the wedding there, beginning at 6 a.m. Friday. Women are encouraged to wear hats.

At McGinnis Sisters in Brentwood, Jennifer Daurora showed us how to have a proper British spread to watch the nuptials. She suggests Earl Grey tea, clotted cream, brands of cheddar and Stilton cheeses approved by the Queen and some scones. By the way, she says the word "scone" is pronounced by the Brits as "scon."

Finally, at Turner's Jewelers in Hampton, they have a replica of Kate Middleton's sapphire engagement ring on display. The price tag? $5,500. They also have tiaras available.
