Police Arrest Suspects In Eat 'N Park Robbery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police say two men have been arrested in connection with the robbery of an Eat 'n Park restaurant on Banksville Road.

Officials say Andrew Ziencik and Thomas Keady, both 25, have been charged with one count each of robbery and conspiracy. Both were taken into custody during overnight traffic stops.

The robbery happened just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.

According to investigators, an employee working at the register reported that the suspects reached over the counter and grabbed cash from the open drawer.

Police say they also attempted to take the whole register but the employee was able to hold on to it.

The suspects then ran from the restaurant and reportedly got away in an awaiting car. Police say they were able to locate that vehicle on Elm Spring Court after a witness reported seeing the vehicle head toward Crane Avenue.

After finding the vehicle, police say a witness there told officials that the suspects had got into another car.

Police say Keady, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody just before 3:30 a.m. after being stopped by Greentree Police in the 1900-block of West Liberty Avenue.

Ziencik, also of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody after 1:30 a.m. during a traffic stop by state police on Interstate 70. A woman, identified as 21-year-old Madeline Grasso, was also taken into custody.

Police say the men were interviewed, and then placed under arrest. Grasso was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant. All three were taken to Allegheny County Jail.
