PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) — President Barack Obama says Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was killed in an operation led by the United States. A small team of Americans carried out the attack and took custody of bin Laden’s remains, the president said Sunday in a dramatic late-night statement at the White House.

On Monday’s show, KDKA Radio’s Mike Pintek talked with a host of guests on this historic day.

In the 12 p.m. hour, Mike talked with Jason Meszaros, a former Army intelligence officer, to get his thoughts on how the covert operation may have gone down..

Then in the 1 p.m. hour, he talked with Elan Journo, a fellow in foreign policy at the Ayn Rand Institute.

Carrie Lemack, the co-founder of the non-profit, non-partisan organization, Families of September 11, talked about how they are taking the news.

Mike finished the show in the 2 p.m. hour with Tom Burnett, the father of a United Flight 93 victim.
