A couple of Class AAAA baseball teams posted important wins last week, while two of the most talented softball pitchers in the WPIAL continued their dominance.

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Here’s a look at how the Pirate farm teams and prospects performed Thursday night.

Indianapolis (AAA) beat Norfolk:
*Chase d’Arnauld: 2-4, HR (#2), 3 RBI
*Pedro Ciriaco: 2-4
*Alex Presley: 3-4 (Single, Double, Triple), 3 runs
*Matt Hague (2008 9th rd pick): 2-4, 3-run HR (#2)
*Brian Burress: 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s

Altoona (AA) beat Akron, 4-3
*Jordy Mercer: 2-4
*Sterling Marte: 0-4 (.306 average for the season
*Aaron Pribanic: 5 IP, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K’s (Lowers season ERA to 1.86), Acquired in the Jack Wilson trade, was 3rd round pick of Seattle in 2008
*Tim Alderson: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K, 0 BB (Lowers season ERA to 1.17) For the season, Alderson has pitched 15.1 innings, allowing 11 hits, 15 K’s, opponents are only hitting .204 against him

Bradenton beat St. Luice, 4-2
*2B Jarek Cunningham: 3-4 (3B and HR #8), 2 RBI…..Hitting .303 for the season
*1B Aaron Baker: 1-2, RBI (#24)
*RHP Phillip Irwin: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K…..Lowers season ERA down to 0.82…….Was rated one of the Top 150 prospects in the 2009 Draft
