Police Investigate Triple Shooting In Homestead

HOMESTEAD (KDKA) -- Authorities continue to investigate today after a shooting in Homestead left three people wounded and also sent bullets into a nearby home.

The shots rang out late Thursday night on Glenn Street near East 14th Avenue. The three young men who were wounded were walking down the road. Officials say they may have been ambushed from behind.

Eight to 10 shots were fired.

One of the victims suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen; the second was shot in the leg and the third was wounded in the shoulder. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.

A woman who lives on the street says she found a bullet in her home. Outside, two bullet holes could be seen in her home.

She said heard the gunshots and fears she or her children could have been injured had they been in the living room. She did not want to be identified.

"I was upstairs in bed and I heard the shooting. I heard pop, pop, pop and I came downstairs to see what was going on," she said. "Then, I looked at my living room and I had all this stuff on the floor. I looked at the wall and I saw the bullet came through my house. It came through the house, through the closet door."

Following the shooting, police scoured the scene looking for shell casings and evidence. The search for suspects in the incident continues.
