Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Backups On Turnpike

NEW STANTON (KDKA) -- A tractor-trailer crash tied up traffic this morning between the New Stanton and Donegal interchanges on the Turnpike.

The accident happened before 5 a.m. and shut down the eastbound side of the road around mile marker 89 for part of the morning.

Around 7 a.m., traffic started getting by on just the shoulder of the road. It created about six to seven miles of backups in that area.

Traffic was able to detour through Route 119 southbound to Route 31 to get back over toward the Donegal interchange.

Stay with KDKA for the latest details.
