Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Statistically, Kevin Correia has been the Pirates best pitcher in 2011. If Paul Maholm had gotten any support from his offense this season, we might say he’s been the Bucs top starter.

Last night, the Pirates not only wasted a great chance to reach the .500 mark but also a great performance from Maholm.

That’s something the Bucs offense has done too much in 2011.

Offensive Production For Maholm In 2011:

April 2 vs. Cubs: the Pirates scored 3 runs for him

April 7 vs. Rockies: Pirates scored 1 run for him

April 14 vs. Brewers: Pirates scored 1 run for him

April 19 vs. Marlins: the Pirates scored 0 runs for him

April 25 vs. Nationals: the Pirates scored 4 runs for him (lone victory)

April 30 vs. Rockies: the Pirates scored 1 run for him

Last night vs. Astros: the Pirates scored 2 runs for him

FOR THE ENTIRE 2011 SEASON, PIRATES OFFENSE HAS SCORED 12 RUNS TOTAL IN 6 STARTS

*In his 6 starts, Maholm has given up 3 runs or less in 4 of his 6 starts
