Former Pirates and current Color Analyst Steve Blass joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the Pirates start to the season and what he credits it to.

Steve said if you told him at the beginning of the year that this team would have a record of 17-17 at this point, he wouldn’t have thought it was realistic but definitely would have taken it.

Despite Manager Clint Hurdle’s assessment that this team isn’t playing just to reach .500, Steve said it does mean something to him and this fan base.  Blass also told us what he makes of Clint Hurdle in his brief time with the Pirates so far, and what he makes of him and the job he is doing.

We wrapped things up with Blass asking what it will take for this team to sustain this level of success that they have had.
