New Gadgets For All Your Grilling Needs

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Warmer weather has finally arrived and that means people will be firing up their grills.

Of course, you'll need some new tools to help grill up that perfect steak, burger, etc.

KDKA-TV's John Shumway found Dan Delsignore among the grilling gadgets at In The Kitchen in the Strip District.

Delsignore was looking for something to prevent vegetables from falling through the grates of his grill.

It's a common problem, which is why it's the motivating factor behind most grilling gadgets.

There are baskets for corn, sausage and even sliders.

Have you ever had fish flake off into the grill? Now, they have seasoned grilling planks you put right on the grill.

"It gives the seasoning into it. It takes that flavor and it seasons that product that item," Barb Sander from In The Kitchen said.

In fact, anything that might fall in could be cooked on grill and serve pans.

There's even a remote cooking monitor at Brookstone.

"You put the probe into the meat, select your types of meat and how well you'd like it done," Brookstone Store Manager Jason Czado said.

Then, put on the monitor and walk up to 300 feet away and it will contact you when your food is ready.

You can take the elbow-work out of cleaning the grill with a battery operated grill brush.

A light helps you see during night grilling and an electronic fork has settings for chicken, hamburger, pork, fish, turkey, veal, lamb, potato and beef.

If you're looking for a great way to add flavor, try cooking with wood chips.

Grilling is what you make it and there's a gadget for just about anything you would want to enhance your grilling prowess.

So, be sure to head to your local stores and stock up for the summer ahead!
