The NewsRadio 1020 KDKA newsroom was dedicated in memory of the late talk show host Fred Honsberger. Honsberger’s 30-year KDKA career began as an anchor/reporter and news director.  The dedication took place with Honsberger’s family, close friends and the CBS Radio Pittsburgh staff in attendance.  Led by Michael Young, CBS Radio Sr. Vice President & Pittsburgh Market Manager, the ceremony acknowledged the true impact that Honsberger had on Pittsburgh.  Fred Honsberger died on Dec. 16, 2009 and his memory will be commemorated by a 30”x24” bronze plaque bearing his image made by Pittsburgh-based Matthews International Corp.  With the help of Fred’s widow, Christine Honsberger, the plaque was unveiled and will stand in the new newsroom in memoriam.
