More Wet Weather, Cooler Temperatures In Weekend Forecast

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Another round of wet weather is ahead as we head into the weekend.

KDKA meteorologist Dennis Bowman says periods of showers and thunderstorms will fire up again this afternoon and into this evening.

Bowman expects the storms to bring heavy rains.

Watch for potential for flash flooding in the wake of a general one to two inches of rain that fell Thursday night.

The National Weather Service has now issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for Somerset County.

With a slow-moving low pressure system coming in for the next several days, we can expect occasional showers and storms for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

There will also be a trend toward cooler temperatures.

After today's high of 82, Saturday will reach 76 degrees and Sunday holds to 69 degrees.

Bowman says it also looks cooler for the start of the work week.

Stay with KDKA for the latest on the weather.
