A couple of Class AAAA baseball teams posted important wins last week, while two of the most talented softball pitchers in the WPIAL continued their dominance.

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Two of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ top pitching prospects, Zack Von Rosenberg and Phillip Irwin, were on the mound last night. One did well, while the other struggled.

PIRATES FARM REPORT:

Indianapolis (AAA) lost to Columbus, 5-2:

Bradenton (High A) beat Clearwater, 3-1:

*CF Evan Chambers: 2-2, HR, 2 RBI
*LF David Rubenstein: 2-3, (.337)
*SP Phillip Irwin: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K (0.82 ERA) Irwin was a 21st round pick in 2009…..Looks like a promotion to Altoona is in order

West Virginia (Low A) beat Kannapolis, 9-8:
