Local Marine Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl
SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- An investigation in Washington County has led to the arrest of a local marine now stationed in Texas.
Thomas Edward King, 24, is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl, now 13, over a seven-year period.
King is stationed in Fort Worth. He is now in a Texas jail awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.
Police say the assaults took place between 2001 and 2008, starting when the victim was 3.
The complaint says King apologized to the girl's father, explaining he was sexually assaulted when he was younger and asked the father for forgiveness.
According to police, the crimes occurred on Vermont Street in South Strabane Township.
Washington County District Attorney Steve Toprani says he hopes to start the extradition process on Monday.
