Teens Use Fake Gun In Shadyside Attempted Robbery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh police arrested two young men who tried to rob a man with a fake gun on a footbridge in Shadyside.

The teenagers put the toy gun in the man’s face and demanded his iPhone. They grabbed it and ran off.

The man apparently chased the suspects in and out of an apartment building and through Stephanie Yates’ backyard.

“I was standing in my backyard and all of the sudden I heard the fences rattling and I didn’t know what was going on and I looked over and these two kids jumped over the fence at me,” Yates said.

The man who had his iPhone stolen grabbed one of the teenagers. Police grabbed the other.

“I was scared to death,” Yates said. “I thought somebody was gonna.- I didn’t know what was gonna happen.”

There is no word on charges the suspects might face.

Yeah, what a great idea . . . bringing ‘sliberty and Shadyside together as one. Don’t understand how you justify merging a ghetto into a community where people actually WORKED towards the privilege of living there. Entitlement . . . yeah, right.

A happier ending would’ve been that the victim shot the two.
