New Bill Requires Workers To Prove Citizenship

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Contractors around the state will now have to prove electronically the citizenship of all their employees. Senate Bill 637 is sponsored by State Sen. Kim Ward of Hempfield in Westmoreland County.

Ward initiated this bill after the discovery of a housing project in Jeanette that used illegal aliens as carpenters and roofers.

She talked more about the bill with KDKA Radio's Mike Pintek.
