PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — James Harrison made news yesterday for his comment on twitter, saying the people who make the rules in the NFL when it comes to illegal hits are “idiots.”

Today, he decided to expand upon those comments on his blog.

“I understand the intent behind making the rules, but in their attempt to make the game safer, they are actually clouding what is allowable,” Harrison said. “A close look will show you that the referees were calling things that were not even supposed to be called, and not calling things that were actually illegal.”

”These rules are targeting hard hitting players and defenses i.e. Steelers,” Harrison said. “I guess the NFL needed a poster child for their campaign.”

It sure sounds like Harrison likes to give concussions to opposing players.

It SOUNDS LIKE Harrison has a passion for the game. And speaks his mind about the subject. I agree with him. The NFL needs to go back to natural grass fields across the board which would eliminate alot of the injuries sustained and quit changing rules to accommodate what THEY keep changing throughout the years. I don’t know how old you are Dan, but right now I would really love to hear from Jack Lambert on this subject. He was correct 35-40 years ago when he made the comment, next thing you know the QB’s will be wearing dresses.

Harrison should knock out a few more! And maybe “accidently” clip a ref!

The NFL is turning into a joke. Let them play!

What’s next? Flag Football. With all the rule changes, football will no longer be fun to watch.

  • Raymond Schrader

right on. and please don’t hurt anyone trying to pull the flag from their pocket. this is all brought on by the owners protecting their investments but ruining the game

I agree Mr. Harrison. WHen Pittsburg plays, the yellow flags come out against the Steelers for many more questionable calls than any other team, period. And if your James Harrison, if you get to close you will be penalized. I mean realy is this a contact sport or not. The rules have gotten to the point that it makes curling look like a contact sport. I would like to see more ref’s being run over, but that would not change the outcome. The NFL would place a rule prohibiting all players from “running” within 25 yards of a ref.
