Sidney Crosby Cleared To Begin Off-Season Workouts

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Sidney Crosby will begin workouts again.

The Penguins say Crosby met with his physician, Dr. Michael Collins with UPMC, and he has been cleared to begin a summer workout program.

Dr. Collins has been treating him since he suffered a concussion back in January.

Crosby will workout with a personal trainer back in his hometown of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, for the next two to three weeks, according to a report from the Penguins.

He's not expected to get back on the ice until July or August, which is part of his normal off-season routine, the Penguins say.

Crosby is coming off of a three-week vacation during which he was spotted at the Cannes Film Festival with teammates Jordan Staal and Max Talbot.
