Man Rescued From River By Officers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man was taken to the hospital early this morning after two police officers pulled him from the Allegheny River.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the two Pittsburgh police officers attempted to rescue him from the edge of the river, but had to get in to get to him.

The Post-Gazette reports that the man was conscious when he was pulled from the water, but police say he may have been intoxicated and fallen in.

He was treated at Allegheny General Hospital.
