Man Injured While Fleeing From Shooter

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh police investigating a report of gunshots in East Pittsburgh early this morning found a man lying in the street; but he wasn’t the victim of a shooting.

The man was apparently injured when he fell and hit his head while trying to run away from a shooter.

The incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. in an alley behind the 500-block of Franklin Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital; but officials have not released any information on his condition.

Police blocked off the area; but at this point, there is no word on an arrest.

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating.
