PITTSBURGH — Todd Graham officially received the first commitment for his 2012 recruiting class as Sto-Rox quarterback Marzett Geter committed to Pitt.
Geter’s status had been back and forth for the last few days, as he issued statements that said he was close to being all in but wanted to leave his options open. Chris Peak of PantherLair.com confirmed via Twitter today that Geter has committed to Pitt 100 percent.
Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State and West Virginia had all shown interest in Geter, among others. A 5-foot-8, 165-pound high school quarterback, Geter likely projects at the wide receiver or defensive back position in college. He also can add value in the return game.
