Police Investigate Shots Fired At Wave Pool

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- The wave pool at Boyce Park was evacuated after gunfire broke out in the parking lot outside the main pool entrance.

Allegheny County Police believe six or seven shots were fired, but it's unclear how many guns were involved.

Last July, there was gunfire near the same wave pool. A teenager was arrested and is now serving a 23-month jail term.

Witnesses say the shots sounded like firecrackers, but they knew it was gunfire when people started scattering.

The county said the wave pool will open as usual tomorrow.

Investigators don't know how many shooters were involved. Despite the pool being packed because of the hot weather, they got little information from witnesses.
