Flash Mob Celebrates Pride In Market Square

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- People in Market Square got a little surprise entertainment this afternoon.

A flash mob, made up of 75 dancers in rainbow-colored t-shirts, surprised the lunch-time crowd with a dance routine.

The dance kicked off the weekend events for Pittsburgh Pride. That's the annual celebration of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

A member of the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh, Christine Bryan, said the festivities begin this weekend with the Pub Crawl.

"(The festivities) continue Saturday night with Patti LaBelle at Pride in the Street, which we're very excited about, and then Sunday is the Pride Awareness March and PrideFest."

Saturday's concert is on Liberty Avenue. Sunday's march starts on the Boulevard of the Allies and ends on Sixth Street. Look for street closures throughout downtown Pittsburgh all weekend long.
