  • Don’t let them poison our children!

The time for a revolution is near…. Politicians are representing corporations and the corporations are making laws. THe time is near… put down your bible and read your constitution. f 911, f the patriot act, f tsa, f the obamas and bush’s, f homeland security, and f marcellus!

    • Truth!

      Bring it… it’s about time.

  • sara

Wow, never listened to or heard of Mike Pintek’s show before, but was interested to hear the discussion about Marcellus shale drilling. All I really got out of this was that the host is an uninformed, anti-science, reactionary blowhard who barely allows his guest to answer questions. Kudos to David Meieran for maintaining his calm and answering Pintek’s questions and dismissive comments with calm, knowledgeable, and well-reasoned arguments.

Fracking is an immediate danger to our state. We need a ban–now.

    • Robert

and lets keep buying oil at $100.00+ a barrel from people who hate us….

  • Mayor of GBD

and what about the fracking that’s been going on for over 100 years. sara, you uniformed arse! EVERYTHING in life has risks and accidents happen. Do our best to make sure they don’t and be prepared if they do.

If you support an extraction tax, expect you bill to reflect it…IT”S THE LAW. Read up on the PA PUC website regardign the Gas Cost Rate.

And then, do we charge farmers to extract milk? Miners to extract coal? NOPE, just Marsellus, because there is so much of it. Don’t own the mineral rights, so what right do you have to profit?

    • Mike

Everything has risks, so anything goes! Really nice logic there, buddy.

      • califkid

you idiot , when you leave home in the morning, you have a risk you may have a accident. did you quit school in the 3rd grade?

    • Timetofight

PURE CORPORATE GREED!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are big enough you are tax free……..

      • Zoeyzotron

You are so dumb union man

      • The One

Time, why are you so anti Capitalism? What harm has it actually done to you?

Your posts never actually say anything.

  • FrackMe

Really, the only question I would have, if they wanted to drill on my land is ‘What’s in it for me?”. There have always been and always will be environmental issues passed from one generation to the next. It’s a regulated industry and it all depends on who you listen to/believe whether it actually presents a REAL issue or just a MAKE BELIEVE issue in some tree-huggers mind! Frack me baby!

    • sara

Yes, there are risks to everything–does that mean I should start driving without a seatbelt, or doing heroin? Because, well, there are risks, so I might as well live like there’s no tomorrow. Read up on the regulations–they don’t actually do much and aren’t well-enforced. DEP cannot keep up with the pace of this industry.

      • Mayor of GBD

hahahaha, not enforced? They are thousands of citations issued each year, and tens of thousands in fines. The industry is regulated by the PA PUC, US DOT, EPA, DEP OSHA. I WORK FOR A NATURAL GAS UTILITY COMPANY, so i know, i deal with them EVERY day – you are just “drinking the koolaide”.

      • SAYYESTOTHETAX

Yes Mayor of GDB the are regulated by all the groups you have mentioned but the problem is they have been paying the same fines over and over again the can afford to pay the fines and they never clean up their act. I really see a problem there. So to me They are not well-enforced……
TAX THEM The gas that they drill gets piped to a main transmission line and who knows where it goes from there????? My guess its not benefiting people in PA. Only the house thats on the the property the gas well is on and only if they own the mineral rights.

  • Butter Pecan

Lots of people have gotten ill, nearly died from natural gas poisoning since it’s beginnings. It’s deadly methane mixed with poisonous toxins. http://www.alkalizeforhealth.net/Lnaturalgas.htm

    • The One

Hey Butter, oil is dirtier… moron

  • Mayor of GBD

butterbrain – I’ve work with natural gas for 32+ years. It is NOT qa toxin. it is flammable and will displace oxygen…that’s it.
