Teen Charged In Fatal Sewickley Twp. Accident

SEWICKLEY TWP (KDKA) -- A local teenager who lost control of his car in a fatal accident is now facing charges.

Jordan King, 16, had just gotten his driver's license.

He picked up his friend, 15-year-old Taylor Frohnhofer, of Sutersville, on a Saturday night last November. King wrecked his Honda Civic on Clay Pike in Sewickley Township, Westmoreland County.

Fronhofer, a student at Yough Senior High, was thrown from the car and suffered head injuries.

State police say King exceeded the posted speed limit of 35 mph.

"If he's traveling 48 miles an hour at impact, most likely he's traveling at a higher rate of speed prior to impact," State Trooper Steve Limani said.

King is facing a vehicular homicide charge.
