Police Swarm Local Neighborhood After Alarm Activates

WILKINS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police surrounded three homes this afternoon after authorities responded to a burglary alarm in Wilkins Township.

It happened after 1 p.m. on Route 130.

KDKA's Paul Martino reports that a squad car responded to the initial alarm, and then called for backup after possibly spotting something believed to be suspicious.

Martino said guns were drawn by police, and the police thought they had the burglar pinned inside one of the homes, but the burglar got away.

"I have no idea what's even going on," said Jason Fuller, a local pizza shop manager.

Several officers surrounded the homes; however, they did not find anyone or anything suspicious.

Police from Wilkins Township, Churchhill and Forest Hill all took part.

Martino said the owner of the house that was robbed said she was too upset to talk with KDKA.
