Irwin Makes Great AA Debut

A couple of Class AAAA baseball teams posted important wins last week, while two of the most talented softball pitchers in the WPIAL continued their dominance.

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- 2009 draft pick Phillip Irwin continues to show the Pittsburgh Pirates that he just be a big part of the team’s future.

Irwin was promoted yesterday from Bradenton (A) to Altoona (AA) and then had an impressive debut for the Curve.

Altoona (AA) beat Harrisburg, 4-1:
*SP Phillip Irwin: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K (Irwin was 5-0 with a 2.03 ERA with Bradenton)
