PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Summer officially arrives on Tuesday, but our summer weather pattern has been in place for some time now and will continue for several days.

Today, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with warm and humid conditions across the Pittsburgh area.

Today’s high will be near 83 degrees and we will have to watch the sky for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

Some of those storms could contain hail, damaging winds and locally heavy rain.

Scattered thunderstorms will continue to threaten the area tonight with a low of 64 degrees.

There will be no break in the pattern until later in the week as the daily chance of thunderstorms persists. Some of those will be strong and will most likely be during the afternoon and evening hours.

Highs will range through the mid 80s until a slight cooling takes place on Thursday and Friday.
