Missing Armstrong Co. Teen Found Safe

NATRONA HEIGHTS (KDKA) – A missing Armstrong County boy was found Sunday afternoon in Allegheny County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Zachary Mazur, 16, was found sleeping in an abandoned house in Natrona Heights around 12:30 p.m.

"This morning, we got a tip that he may have been in a home, an unoccupied home in Natrona Heights on Harvard Avenue," said Trooper Steve Liston, of the state police. "Myself and Harrison Township police went there and checked the residence this morning; in fact, he was there asleep on a couch."

State police say Mazur left his Freeport home sometime after midnight Saturday. The teen reportedly took a family member's vehicle without permission. He does not have a driver's license.

Authorities said Mazur is believed to have been involved in two separate hit-and-run accidents in Harrison Township early Saturday morning.

He was not hurt in either one of the crashes.

However, he is facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle and driving without a license.
