Latest Pens Free Agent News

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- With the start of NHL free agency this coming Friday, there's plenty of Penguins free agent news & rumors.

Here's some news on Jaromir Jagr, Tyler Kennedy, Max Talbot, Mike Rupp, Pascal Dupuis and Arron Asham courtesy Wil DePaoli of Insidepittsburghsports.com.

Rupp & Dupuis:
*The Pens have presented both players with revised offers and Pens GM Ray Shero is waiting for a response. Both players are represented by the same agent, Allan Walsh.

Jagr Update:
*Shero and Jagr's agent Petr Svoboda are expected to speak early this morning. Svoboda tells DePaoli that he expects to find out today whether the Penguins "are all in" for Jagr.

The Penguins are expected to want a handshake agreement with Jagr before the start of free agency on July 1st.

According to TSN.ca, the Penguins have offered Jagr a one-year deal. A decision from Jagr could come as early as Wednesday.

Kennedy Update:
*Kennedy's camp and the Penguins remain far apart on money. There is no scenario in which he'll avoid free agency by accepting just a one year deal. How does the 24-year old not see what he can get on the open market?

Asham Back To Philadelphia?
*There is strong speculation that Asham could be heading back to the Flyers. The Pens will not make him an offer before July 1st.

Where Will Talbot Land?
*DePaoli says that Talbot just wants a fair deal. Look for Talbot to head to the highest bidder. Early word is that the Florida, Columbus and Toronto all have interest in Talbot.
