State Police Investigate After Overnight Pursuit In Westmoreland Co.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — State police say charges are pending after an overnight pursuit in Westmoreland County.

It started just before 1:30 a.m. on state Route 380 east and continued on to Kiski Park Drive, Gill Road and ended on Linger Longer Lane in Washington Township.

According to investigators, the suspect’s 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was spotted traveling at a high rate speed on state Route 380.

Authorities have not identified the suspect, but say he is a 23-year-old from Plum.

State police say the suspect abandoned the car on Linger Longer Lane. A passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody.

Officials say charges are being filed in District Court and include fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
