Pittsburgh (KDKA)- A huge NHL trade has been made on the Fourth of July.

The San Jose Sharks have traded forward Dany Heatley to the Minnesota Wild for forward Martin Havlat.

Heatley scored 28 goals and added 38 assists in 80 games for the Sharks last season while Havlat scored 22 goals and added 40 assists in 78 games for the Wild.

Minnesota is picking up a big contract with Heatley due to make $8 million in 2011-12, $6 million in 2012-13 and $5 million in 2013-14.

The Sharks will be picking up a cap hit of $5 million per season over the next four years.

In 669 career NHL games, Heatley has scored 325 goals but has been invisible in the playoffs for San Jose.

The last 2 seasons, Heatley scored only 5 goals in 32 playoff games.

Havlat has scored 209 goals in 621 career NHL games.
