8-Year-Old Rushed To Hospital After Pool Incident

SCOTT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- An 8-year-old boy was taken to Children's Hospital from a community pool.

It happened at about 4:20 p.m. at 1 Park Drive in Scott Township.

A lifeguard tells KDKA-TV the boy did not go underwater, but was not breathing. The boy was given CPR at the scene and was breathing when he went to the hospital.

"The lifeguards did a phenomenal job," Monica Gigliotti, the pool's assistant manager, said. "They did everything they had to do."

The emergency may have been related to medication the boy is taking.

There is no word on the boy's condition at the hospital.
