Ford Truck Tailgates Stolen In Butler County

BUTLER (KDKA) — Police in Butler County are investigating tailgate thefts.

A burglar drove onto the lot at Jack’s Ford in Buffalo Township and stole four new tailgates off trucks.

The same thing happened at Butler County Motors on South Main Street in Butler.

Police say it only took about six minutes for someone to drive into the new car lot behind the dealership and remove four tailgates – all of them with the Ford logo and the words “Super Duty.”

The stolen tailgates are worth about $8,000.

There is no description of the suspect, but the burglar was driving a large white Dodge van described as a late 2000 model.

Police have not released the surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to call Butler City Police or Buffalo Township Police.

same guy or people who stole them years ago if they look within a 20 mile radius they will find the tail gates at a body shop, a used parts dealer, vo-tech school, or a parts dealer, these thieves do not even realize that the tailgates are numbered, since tailgates is the most valuable part of the whole truck, these tailgates are traceable, I hope they put them in jail for years
