Ford Truck Tailgates Stolen In Butler County

BUTLER (KDKA) -- Police in Butler County are investigating tailgate thefts.

A burglar drove onto the lot at Jack's Ford in Buffalo Township and stole four new tailgates off trucks.

The same thing happened at Butler County Motors on South Main Street in Butler.

Police say it only took about six minutes for someone to drive into the new car lot behind the dealership and remove four tailgates – all of them with the Ford logo and the words "Super Duty."

The stolen tailgates are worth about $8,000.

There is no description of the suspect, but the burglar was driving a large white Dodge van described as a late 2000 model.

Police have not released the surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to call Butler City Police or Buffalo Township Police.
