Trib’s Kovacevic Criticizes All-Star Snub

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – On Monday evening, Dejan Kovacevic of the Tribune-Review joined 93.7 The Fan’s Colin Dunlap, sitting in for Andrew Fillipponi, to tell why he agrees with Pirate manager Clint Hurdle that center fielder Andrew McCutchen was unfairly left off the National League All-Star roster.

As he did in his latest column, Dejan explains the sabrmetric stat commonly called “WAR” (wins above replacement), and uses it to underscore McCutchen’s status as one of the best players at his position in all of baseball. He also gives his opinion on whether the voting system can be improved.

In addition, Dejan tells Colin what he would do with the starting lineup once the Bucs are healthy, and why he’d be willing to move a certain infielder across the diamond.
