Arson Investigated In New Kensington
NEW KENSINGTON (KDKA) – Authorities are investigating arson in New Kensington.
Witnesses reported seeing heavy smoke billowing from a vacant home in the 1200-block of Victoria Avenue.
The flames quickly spread to a neighboring house where a family lives. The damage affected the back of the house.
Twila Sneed was sitting on her front porch at about midnight when she smelled smoke.
"And I looked up, it was coming out of that right side window and I ran into the house and told the kids to, you know, to get out," she told KDKA-TV.
Last month, two other fires in New Kensington were determined to be arson – one on Ridge Avenue and another on McCargo Street.
Both fires were less than a mile from the most recent one on Victoria Avenue.
One firefighter was hurt, but not seriously.
