7 Injured In Fayette County Crash

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Seven people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Township.

State police say 16-year-old Cheyenne Hiles ended up in the path of a Mercury Mountaineer driven by 31-year-old Monica Kerestes while trying to cross State Route 201 around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.

The front of the Mountaineer broadsided the right side of Hiles' Ford Escape and overturned, according to investigators. The Escape then hit a traffic sign before stopping.

There were four children between ages 1 and 4 inside the Mountaineer. They were all sitting in child safety seats and suffered moderate injuries.

Kerestes and her passenger, 33-year-old Michelle Dell, were also injured. They were both wearing seatbelts.

Hiles, who also wore a seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries.
