2 Men Wanted For Questioning In Rankin Attempted Child Luring

RANKIN (KDKA) -- Police hope surveillance pictures will lead them to two men wanted for questioning in an attempted child luring in Rankin.

Police say two men in a light-colored pickup truck came into Hawkins Village between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday, approached a 16-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl and tried to lure them into the truck.

"As the truck passed the victim, the suspect stated, 'Come here. Do you want to play?'

"As the victim was turning to run away from the pickup truck, she noticed that the door opened a crack," Allegheny County Police Lt. Jeff Korczyk said.

The 11-year-old ran away and told her mother. The 16-year-old says as she approached the truck, two other men came over with guns, scaring the men in the pickup truck away.

"When the two black men came up with the gun, the white man got out his car," a witness said. "He came around the back and that's when [he] and the black man [were] face to face and that's when we ran."

County police ask anyone who recognizes the truck to give them a call.
