Ellwood City Man To Stand Trial In Girlfriend's Death

ELLWOOD CITY (KDKA) -- A man accused of strangling his girlfriend in Ellwood City will stand trial.

Keith Wolfrey, 23, told police he argued with 20-year-old Joie Lordi the night before her death back in May. He told police he was moving out of their apartment and that they were breaking up.

Wolfrey also told police he remembered putting his hands around his girlfriend's neck, but his memory is foggy regarding any other details.

He told police he went upstairs after the incident and went to bed, woke up a few hours later, saw his girlfriend's body and "freaked out." That's when he covered her face with tape.

The couple has a 6-month-old baby. Wolfrey told police the baby woke up crying in the morning. He called his mother and then called police.

Wolfrey is being held for trial in jail without bond. He is charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse.
